Competitor and market intelligence
proResearch nearby businesses, inspect services and source evidence, compare branch coverage and ask for a strategy tailored to your goals.
Use Analyze competitors to discover nearby businesses and Competitor report to inspect what is known about them. Research combines map listings, Overture's open place data and public business pages, including linked service menus and PDFs. AI suggestions use the saved evidence and your business context to propose experiments.
These are discovered listings, not a complete census of your market. No results does not mean no competition. Missing services, prices or reviews remain unknown.
Access and scope
Your organization needs the Competitor Intelligence module. Managers and people granted the competitor-view privilege can open the pages, scan their visible branches and generate suggestions. Each CRM action has its own permission and module requirements. Chat-based competitor research remains manager-only.
Reports, exports, research and scan progress follow your current branch access. A saved recommendation or scan involving branches you cannot access is not shown.
The Analyze competitors map
- Open Analyze competitors and select a search radius.
- Select Include web research if available and you want deeper evidence.
- Choose Scan for competitors. Discovery runs in the background and reports progress. You can leave the page and return to it.
- Open a map marker or branch scorecard, then use Competitor report for the full evidence.
Blue markers show your branches; red markers show located competitors. Each source may have different coverage. The same business can appear near more than one branch, so adding branch counts does not produce a count of unique businesses.
Keep branch addresses and coordinates accurate. The scan can locate a branch from its address, but an approximate location borrowed from other branches is not accepted as a reliable search origin.
Branch cards show discovered listings, documented service menus and pages read. The advisor also receives recorded sales linked to appointments and past, non-cancelled bookings over the last 90 days. Average ticket is calculated per recorded sale; unavailable sales remain unknown. These figures are not competitors' revenue.
Background web research
Web research must be enabled for your deployment. Contact support if the option is unavailable. The configured search provider and its usage limits apply; optional paid providers may incur charges.
Research first checks Overture's free global place data for nearby businesses and their websites, independently of web-search results. It then searches and reads public pages, following service links and text-based PDF menus. Spain and Mexico use Spanish search terms. The scan respects configured AI/search usage limits, website access rules and a bounded page budget. Actual coverage varies by source.
The report preserves source links, dates, page-read status and supporting quotations for extracted services, prices and durations. Missing prices remain unknown. Some websites block access or require an interactive browser. A finished scan can still show Research needs attention when evidence is missing; check pages read and research by branch instead of treating updated map listings as a complete analysis.
Only businesses with suitable structured location information inside the selected radius become new map markers. Other pages remain research leads to review. Public business terms are searched; customer contact details are not sent as search queries.
AI suggestions
Use What should the strategy explore? to describe your goal. For example: attract premium clients without discounting, investigate an underserved service, or improve the booking experience.
After a scan, choose AI suggestions. A wide, scrollable dialog opens while the plan is generated, then displays formatted sections, lists, tables and source links. A compact summary stays below the map; View full plan reopens the saved result without another AI request. The advisor combines branch evidence, business figures and saved context, and can propose approaches beyond promotions and loyalty programs.
The advisor should distinguish observations from assumptions. When evidence is thin, the next useful step may be further research rather than another campaign. It must not invent competitor prices, reviews or financial results.
Available CRM shortcuts is a separate, collapsible menu. It can offer a promotion, win-back email, reminders or a staff briefing when your permissions allow. These are available tools, not proof that the AI selected each one for your strategy. Review the editable proposal and confirm before any action is executed. See copilot actions.
Saved recommendations can be reopened from their notification, subject to current branch access.
Read the Competitor report
The report helps you judge the evidence before acting:
- Snapshot cards: competitor profiles, profiles with services, published services and pages read.
- Evidence by branch: compare profiles with documented menus against listings with no service evidence.
- Published services: see the services found in documented menus. Missing services remain unknown, not unavailable.
- Services and evidence: compare quoted prices and durations, then open each business's supporting source. Expand profiles for contact details, hours and evidence dates.
- Research by branch: open the original pages and distinguish read pages from search excerpts or incomplete runs.
- Export CSV: download the scoped listings, captured service details, evidence links and dates. Map & scan returns to discovery.
Compare ratings together with their review counts and source. Do not add counts from different platforms. A public listing may be outdated or self-reported. A recently read page does not guarantee that every fact on it was recently updated.
For pricing decisions, compare equivalent services, duration, inclusions and currency. A starting price or promotion is not necessarily the final ticket. Review trends need repeated observations; a single snapshot cannot establish growth or decline.
Monthly revenue scenario
Public listings usually do not disclose a competitor's revenue. The report therefore offers a calculator with blank assumptions, not a financial estimate presented as fact.
Enter working stations, appointments per station per day, open days per month, average ticket and low/high occupancy. The calculation is:
Stations × daily appointments × open days × occupancy × average ticket.
The result is a hypothetical monthly gross-sales range in your organization's currency, before costs and taxes. Use sourced assumptions where possible and keep uncertainty visible. Review counts do not reveal revenue or occupancy.
Asking in chat
Managers can also ask the copilot about competitors when web research is enabled. Include the location and question: for example, compare published manicure services around a particular branch. Chat searches may reuse cached results and are subject to the deployment's research allowance.
Check the cited pages and dates before making a decision. If the result is thin, inspect branch addresses, source coverage and the research status instead of treating missing information as a market opportunity.
